factor. She hurt the Heels with her shooting, rebounding and physical play,
and the Devils missed her greatly when she was out. She stood up to Larkins
and made her work a bit, and no other Devils was able to get as physical

getting thoroughly outplayed by DeGraffenreid in the first half, Jasmine scored
14 in the second half. She attacked the basket, hit short jumpers, sank two
threes and played tough defense. Jasmine dared the Heels to guard her, and her
speed took them by surprise. The fact that she never gave up and was one of
the
most determined Duke players down the stretch speaks to her character. |

hustling like crazy. She played opportunistic defense, passed the ball inside
and out, chased down rebounds and attacked the basket. Her technical was not
especially damaging in the course of the game, and it actually served to fire
up her teammates. |

that was highly contested (instead of spinning away from the defender), she
used her quickness and strength to get to the foul line. I would have loved
to have seen her get a few more minutes in the second half; while she's not
a shooter, she was much more effective than Jackson in this game. |

and some of that hustle later turned into silly fouls. She did grab a few
rebounds and guarded the wing well, helping force McCants into a bad shooting
game, but she didn't have the impact that Duke needed from her off the bench. |

defensive end. That resulted in her fouling out, as she was out of position
a few times. She also took shots that were a bit outside her range, which led
to her struggling in the offense as well. |

of late has been consistently excellent. She hit 2 big shots in this game,
including a tough layup off an offensive rebound. She also blocked out nicely
against the Heels, grabbing 5 tough rebounds and generally holding her position
much better than in earlier games. Krystal also avoided foul trouble. While
her knee is preventing her from jumping (and hence impairing her shot
blocking),
it's a blessing in disguise of sorts since she isn't jumping into shooters but
rather is learning to stand her ground. |
