The Nutshell by Orin DayDuke overpowered Purdue in a hard fought defensive struggle in the first game of the "Reef Division" of the Paradise Jam on Thanksgiving Day. Jasmine Thomas came off the bench to lead all scorers with 15 points, while Chante Black overcame 2-11 shooting from the floor to notch a 10 point/11 rebound double-double. Wanisha Smith returned from a wrist injury to start and score 7, including a clutch three down the stretch. Abby Waner did not play.
While we did not make the trip to the Virgin Islands, we do have a game recap from Rob and player stats have been published.
Duke faces Temple tomorrow night at 6 PM Eastern, a win would clinch the top spot in the Reef Division.
