There are some games where the box score tells the story, and Duke's 75-34 victory at Maine was definitely one of them. The Black Bears couldn't match Duke's size and quickness last year in Cameron and the same was true this year in Orono. One might fault Duke for a bit of a slow start, but certainly emotion was high for both teams as Joanne P. McCallie returned to her former home court. One stat that showed the total dominance was that Duke had nearly twice as many steals (25) as Maine's total field goals (13). Indeed if Duke had taken better care of the basketball and had any success from behind the arc, the final margin could have been much greater. Some other key numbers:
