Krystal worked very hard in this game to get position and demand the ball. She hit some tough hook shots, had a nice pass to Vernerey for a score, blocked shots and alertly went after loose balls. This was not a brilliant game by her, but she was one of the few Devils who didn't look completely outclassed.

Kathleen Scheer

Scheer hit one jumper but was otherwise a non-factor. She was shut out on the boards and couldn't defend UConn's forwards.

Karima Christmas

Karima tried to be more aggressive offensively, and she was clearly uncomfortable doing so. She had 5 offensive boards but was completely ineffective as an offensive force and was absolutely no match for Maya Moore or Tiffany Hayes. She needs to continue to be aggressive, starting with offensive rebounding, and the rest will come eventually.

Jasmine Thomas

Jasmine never quit and kept firing away because that's what her team needed, but UConn welcomed her taking jump shots instead of finding a way to get to the line. It took her 16 shots to get to 13 points. While she did ahve a couple of assists, UConn did a nice job of reducing her to one-on-one player status.

Chelsea Gray

Chelsea had an OK game and certainly wssn't outplayed by UConn's point guard Bria Hartley. She scored on a bank, a jumper and in transition and found K.Thomas in the post a few times for scores. UConn did take away her ability to really run a team for much of the game, successfully cutting her off from the rest of her squad.

Shay scored Duke's first points on a tough drive but did not score again after that. She tried to fire up her teammates but couldn't get any more shots to land.

Tricia Liston

Tricia competed in this game but struggled to figure out what a good shot was. She airballed one three attempt and hesitated on her other jump shots. UConn kept her off the boards as well; her only contribution was a driving three pont play.

Haley Peters

Haley really struggled in this game, playing just five minutes as she committed 2 quick fouls in transition (a big no-no).

Allison Vernerey

MINPTSFG3FGFTAO-D-REBBLKSTLTOPF

2nd1242-30-00-102-1-30001
TOT1852-30-01-303-1-40113

Allison showed a lot of fight in this game, especially when Duke was struggling. She scored with contact, hit a spinning runner and grabbed 3 offensive boards. UConn made sure to body her up to keep her away from the basket, but it was a shame Duke couldn't get her the ball more.

Chloe Wells

2nd721-40-10-020-0-00010
TOT1642-60-20-020-0-00132

Chloe took a lot of bad shots (she reverted to pulling up for threes with a hand in her face), but she also battled and passed the ball around a bit. She hit a long jumper and a bank shot and found Gray in transition.

Richa Jackson

RJ showed some nice fight in her limited minutes as she got to the foul line at the end of the first half. However, she wasn't precise in her movements and wound up turning the ball over several times. Still, it was heartening to see her move well and not back down from the challenge.
