In a game where Duke was only up a possession or two for much of the time, it took a flurry of jump shots down the stretch to pull away from a rugged Florida State squad. The duo of Haley Peters and Tricia Liston helped turn a 4 point lead into a 10 point bulge with six minutes to go. FSU could do little more than trade baskets after that. Florida State was impossible to stop once they got ball in the low block, outscoring Duke in the paint by a 42-34 margin. Of course, that was only when they weren't turning the ball over against Duke, as the Devils had a 26-7 edge in points off turnovers. The coaches and players were disappointed that they didn't get to the line more, as coach McCallie said that "...if you don't get to the free throw line, then you really can't separate. So what I call the tough 'dirty work' -- stats we did not score well on." Still, Duke won because they made tough shots. When asked if Duke's ability to hit jump shots was the key to the game, she said "I think that's what ended up happening. You can force a tough shot, and if they knock it down, props." It was those shots, plus getting 17 offensive rebounds, that helped Duke stay undefeated in the ACC. Top Performers:
