Duke Starters (from post to point)

Elizabeth Williams

Just another day at the office for the player who was nominated to the Wooden Award's top 20 midseason list today. After getting her shot blocked twice in the early moments of the game, she just came back harder, posting up to give Duke the lead and then relentlessly attacking the basket or alertly passing out of double-teams. Her five blocks were significant, because they disrupted what were otherwise good-looking shots for Clemson. After a while, the Tigers simply stopped going inside when she was in the game, a testament to the respect she gets from opposing players and coaches.

Haley Peters

This was another solid game for Haley, who hit a variety of jump shots but also went to her signature reverse from underneath the basket. It's a great move, one that shows she's becoming harder to stop. Like the other starters, she's just as likely to initiate a break as she is to finish it. She had a career-high 6 assists in this game as she was able to find Liz Williams time and again.

Richa Jackson

This was exactly the kind of aggressive game Duke needed from Richa. She sliced up the defense, hit short and long jump shots, and drove to the basket for a crucial three point play late in the first half. She also grabbed rebounds and took care of the ball. Slowly but surely, she's turning into the sort of player Duke needs her to be: a first-option scorer who limits mistakes and turnovers.

Tricia Liston

After a few quiet games on offense, Tricia needed this kind of explosion. In addition to splashing in a trio of threes, she also scored off the dribble and in transition. She only had a couple of rebounds, but came up with a number of steals, including one where literally ripped the ball out of the hands of a player who was trying to elevate against her. As long as she's in the right place on defense (and she got back late a few times on the perimeter), it's fine for her to hunt her shot.

Chelsea Gray

Chelsea had a quietly effective game, doling out 9 assists while taking just 5 shots. Clemson seemed to be shadowing her a bit, but she had no problem handling that kind of pressure. She triggered a number of transition baskets and got her shooters some great looks. Once the game was out of reach, she was happy to take a step back and let others score.

Shay Selby

The numbers are modest, but I thought Shay was excellent in this contest, especially at the defensive end. She disrupted Clemson's offense consistently, either by forcing steals or else getting their guards to take shots they didn't really want. She twice dove into the thick of the lane to retrieve offensive rebounds. She didn't turn the ball over. This is exactly what one would want from a senior reserve; it was especially good to see the energy that she played with.

Allison Vernerey

Alli was solid in this game, especially at the defensive end, where she was swatting shots and going after loose balls. She had two key shots in the first half just when Duke was starting to get a bit of separation.

Kathleen Scheer

Leener struggled in the first half but was tremendous in the second, as she dug out rebounds, grabbed steals, hit a couple of short jumpers and played excellent post defense. Like the rest of the bench, she needed some extended minutes to work out some kinks, and by the end of the game she was looking much more fluid and confident.

Ka'lia Johnson

Ka'lia nailed a three from the wing, got to the foul line and dug out 4 boards. It's been a while since she's played, so it was good to see her get some burn with the rest of the more experienced subs.

Jenna Frush

Jenna grabbed a rebound and dribbled it out of trouble during her brief stint.
