Liz had 10 points in a game where she should have had 20-25 points, given some of the good looks that she had. UConn did a great job of keeping her just far enough from the basket to make her uncomfortable and rush her shots. She still hit a baseline jumpshot, got a stickback and finished on a cut, along with making her foul shots. I think her first half foul trouble got her out of rhythm, especially after she picked up her third foul in the first half. This was certainly a learning experience where she went up against a team that didn't simply use double teams but instead gave her just enough room to make her think too much about what she was doing.

Haley Peters

Haley worked like crazy in this game and looked genuinely angry when she fouled out. She was only 3-10 from the floor, but hit a huge three late in the second half. She grabbed 9 rebounds and was a human floor burn, going after loose balls relentlessly. She also rushed some shots, but she mostly simply missed some open looks.

Richa Jackson

Richa is one of two Duke players who can get her own shot at any time, and she was wise to attack as much as possible. UConn clearly questioned her ability to finish in traffic, and her 5-14 shooting performance points to the fact that this was a good strategy. Still, she never gave up, did hard work on the boards and did manage to hit some shots late in the game. The one thing she didn't do was get to the foul line, and it's clear that she needs to continue to work on being more physical and learn how to force officials to make calls with powerful, assertive moves.

Tricia Liston

UConn kept an eye on Liston throughout the game, rarely letting her have a good look at the basket. She tried to score in other ways, but seemed a step slow throughout the game. This game points to her need to continue to get quicker, stronger and more creative with the ball.

Chelsea Gray

Chelsea shot 5-17 from the floor, but in general I have few complaints with her performance. She was assertive at a time when the team needed her to be. She missed shots and rushed some, but those were shots she needed to take. Her threes early in the game kept Duke early in the game, and another three later in the half brought Duke within 4 points. Later in the half, she hit a bank shot and had a beautiful pass to Peters for a score. In the second half, she had assists to Williams, Peters and Jackson. In general, she remained assertive throughout the game, leading her team by example and vocally. There was an urgency and focus to her game that showed that this loss is going to bother her and that she plans to do something about it.

Shay Selby

Shay missed a couple of drives and a long jumper, but she did her usual great job of diving into the paint and digging out some key rebounds. She unfortunately was rushing just a bit too much, like many of her teammates, which resulted in a couple of bad passes.

Allison Vernerey

Alli was another player who rushed her shots, missing a couple of hooks that in recent games had been on target, and bricking 2 free throws during the team's second half field goal drought. She did take a charge on one possession.

Leener struggled in this game, picking up two fouls and missing a rushed three point attempt after Duke's wheels had come off.
