2011 ACC Seeding Update
By DWHoops Staff
February 25, 2011

Picture is Clearer Heading into Last Weekend

The seeding picture for the 2011 ACC Tournament is becoming more clear after last night's action. However, the only team locked into a seeding is Virginia Tech at #12. A full analysis is available at James Armstrong's ACC Seeding website - here are some highlights at the top of the conference:

  • Duke: Earns #1 seed with a win or a Miami loss.

  • Miami: #1 with win plus Duke loss, otherwise a #2 or #3.

  • FSU: Cannot finish first, guaranteed a #2 or #3 seed.

  • Georgia Tech: Can earn #4 seed with a win, otherwise a likely #5.

  • Maryland: Can grab #4 seed with a win and a Georgia Tech loss - could also be a #5 or #6.

  • UNC: Must defeat Duke and get help to earn #5 seed, otherwise will be seeded #6.

  • NC State: On a roll, NC State is once again the team nobody wants to draw in Greensboro. If stars align they could be a #7 seed, but with a season ending win they're most likely to lurk in the #8 or #9 slot.
