Wake Forest -- Thursday, February 2nd, 2012 @ 7:00pm (Cameron Indoor Stadium) Please see the preview for Duke's first game against Wake Forest for specific team details. Last Meeting: 1/6/2012 - Duke Blocks Wake Forest, 76-58. Current Records: Duke 17-3, 8-0 ACC. Wake Forest 12-9, 2-6 ACC Current Rankings: Duke #5, Wake Forest is not ranked. What's Changed And What's At Stake: Wake has gone 2-5 since losing to Duke earlier in the year, essentially losing to every team that was better than they were and beating league doormats Clemson and Boston College. Most recently, they held a 4 point lead late in the game against UNC before losing by 4 points. Wake has size and depth, but their long scoring droughts and careless ballhandling have prevented them from beating good teams. However, Lakevia Boykin, who torched Duke in their first matchup, also tore up the Tar Heels (she's currently averaging 11 ppg). She must be contained off the dribble and from the three point line. Duke has to recover from the tough UConn loss and look to start a new home court winning streak. Wake at this point is getting desperate for big wins, because any hopes they have for the NCAA tournament are getting more and more remote. They certainly have a puncher's chance of taking out a thinner Duke lineup, especially if Duke is careless with the ball (the Devils were terrible against Wake's press in their first matchup) and relies too much on their jumpshots. This is a game where Elizabeth Williams needs to re-establish herself, and Wake will no doubt do everything they can to slow her down, given that she had a triple-double against the Deacs in their first meeting. As long as Duke continues to hustle on defense and make smart decisions on offense, they'll be in good shape.
